Afternoon Tea at The Milestone Hotel

Afternoon Tea at The Milestone Hotel

I'm still feeling stuffed as I write this, as Selena from Oh The Places We Will Go orgnised another girlie bloggers afternoon tea today. This time we tried out the pastries, finger sandwiches and scones at one of London's Red Carnation hotels, The Milestone Hotel in Knightsbridge. I was looking forward to it all week as our last bloggers tea session we were taken care of so well by The Royal Horseguards tweeting Chef Ben and his team.

Afternoon Tea at The Milestone Hotel

The Milestone Hotel is posh in that classic, reserved English way and so was the private room that was reserved for us. I felt a bit disappointed that the tables weren't decorated with pink ribbons and red roses like at the Royal Horseguards Hotel where we had our previous London Bloggers Tea.

I sat at one of three tables with nine other bloggers where we were served a glass of champagne. We had a choice of only two teas, English breakfast and Early Grey. On the contrary, the choice of food was so abundant that it almost didn't fit on our table. There were two plates of the usual finger sandwiches, two plates of scones and two plates with a variety of small pastries such as macaroons, pistachio cake and a fruit tart. It all tasted nice, but if I'm honest it was nothing mind blowing.

I know it is hard to beat tweeting Chef Ben from the Royal Horseguards Hotel, but afternoon tea at The Milestone Hotel was nothing more than okay. Nevertheless I had a delightful afternoon and I can't wait to see where Selena will take us for tea the next time.
