The Lanes of Brighton

I love shopping in The Lanes of Brighton. It's a maze of little alleys and streets lined with funky antique shops, fashion boutiques, quirky eateries and cosy coffee shops. It's easy to get lost here, but that's okay because that's the best way to explore The Lanes. The vibe is very bohemian with incense wafting around in the air, buskers playing in the street and hippie types hanging about.

Here are some addresses of places I liked: There are so many places to eat and drink, whether you're a veggie, a non lactose, or an omnivore, you won't go hungry in The Lanes. Lydea on Kensington Gardens is great for a veggie lunch with plenty of hot and cold dishes to choose from. The prices are easy to digest too.

Across the street from Lydea's you'll find Cloud 9, a colourful cake shop with fabulous cupcakes sprawled on the counter screaming 'eat me'. They also do custom-made cakes for birthdays and other special occasions.

When you walk past Roly's Fudge shop, it's hard to resist that sweet smell of freshly made fudge. Their fudge isn't just crumbly, it so soft that it just melts in your

Kerrie Berrie Beads is an utterly girlie shop with loads of beads in different colours, shapes and sizes. Let your creativity go wild and make your own necklaces or bracelets, or if you've got two left hands, there are very nice ready-made creations on sale here as well.

I do like my home shops and I had to pop into Bert's. The stock everything you need to kit out your home, from kitchen and bath ware, to fake flowers and pick-nick baskets. I wish there was one in London.

If you're into antiques and salvaging then do take a look in the garden of the Brighton Architectural Salvage. It's a quiet little garden tucked away from the hustle and bustle of The Lanes dotted with antique garden benches, little drinking fountains, mirrors and lots of fragrant flowers.

There are so many more places I could list here, but the best tip I can give you is to just go and have a look for yourself.
