London Grace Nail Bar

I'm not a girlie girl, but when a friend of mine organised a baby shower at London Grace Nail Bar last weekend, I was really looking forward.

London Grace Nail Bar

Located in Putney, London Grace Nail Bar is not your regular nail salon. Sure, it offers all your standard and not so standard nail treatments, hand and feet, but they also serve coffee and booze. Best combo ever.

They call themselves a nail bar, cafe, and bar offering nail treatments, coffee and wines and fizz. They're very proud of their products and services and don't offer any fake stuff roughness. Their products are free from nasties; from the milk in the coffee to the chemicals in nail polish.

The treatments are reasonably priced, albeit a bit more expensive than my local Asian nail salon. But they don't have prosecco though.

Like I said, we were there for a babyshower and for £15 quid per person we enjoyed a welcome prosecco, a bowl of salad followed by a generous slice of cake and pots of tea. The treatments were extra and were all done in our own private area in the basement. I went for the Hunky Dory, which was a quick vile, buff and polish, that set me back another £15. They offer a load of other packages for whatever type of occasion and at varying prices.

The service was great, although when the mum-to-be complained she wasn't comfortable on the wooden bench she needed to sit on for her pedi, there wasn't much room to accommodate her. It was resolved in the end, but it was a bit strange that for a place that offers baby shower, they were reluctant to make her more comfy.

We did have a nice time and I'd absolutely recommend this for something different to do with friends. It's all about being social at Grace London and there were lots of groups of girls and women enjoying a treatment over a few drinks. Although if I need a solo treatment, I'll stick to my local Asian place.

  1. Its a shame they couldn't accommodate the mummy to be with a more comfortable chair, but oooh prosecco!

    1. It ended up being okay in the end and we had a fab time, but it would be nice if they had easy chairs for mummies to be.

  3. Confession time - my first ever professional manicure was for my wedding as I'm not too much of a girly girl either but I do like the fact that this doubles up as a cafe though - does sound fun for an occasion!
