Swedish Food at KuPP

Swedish restaurants are popping up like mushrooms here in London and I am loving it. Last weekend I had Swedish food at KuPP in the Paddington area.

KuPP is located right along the Regent's Canal in a location that is still somewhat residential. Which makes it a lot easier to grab a table at this place. I went there on a Sunday morning and there was just a handful of people there. I picked a table right by the window, overlooking the canal.

While enjoying a much needed latte and a watermelon and mint juice I studied the menu. Well, actually I had studied the menu for about a week already, so it was more a case of making sure that the pancakes I had my eye on, were still available.

And they were.

The Swedish pancakes were served with a glob of sweet sour cream and lingonberry jam and sprinkled with cardamom sugar. I loved them as they were more like the French crepes than those American thick dough balls.

I wish I had room for more of the food I saw on the menu as it all sounded mouthwateringly good. And get this; on the weekend they do a bottomless boozy' brunch. Unlimited knackerbrot and salmon, washed down with unlimited bloody Mary's, guys. What is not to love about that?

  2. woow this place sounds awesome. I am from Norway so I know about the sweedish pancakes which is actually also from Norway. We have the same recipes, but norwegians are most famous for their waffles. I will have to go there when I visit London again. Thank you for sharing x
