Where to Have Lunch in Milan

Where to Have Lunch in Milan

I literally spent my bank holiday weekend eating and drinking in Italy. Our first stop was Milan where our mission was to find a place to have lunch.

Here are two places I tried and tested.

New Zealand Wine at New Zealand Wine Cellar

Okay, so this post ain't about ethnic food, but hey, wine is part of eating out too. So last weekend, when I popped into Pop Brixton, I happened upon this lovely little wine shop called New Zealand Wine Cellar.

Pop Brixton

Anything North London does, the south can do better. So if Shoreditch has its Boxpark, the south has got Pop Brixton.

Review of Barbecoa

Last week I was asked to review US-Style Barbecoa, a restaurant co-owned by Jamie Oliver and American chef Adam Perry Lang. I was looking forward to this one for days after having drooled over the menu a good few times. It read like a carnivore's dream come true.

Japanese Food at Gyoza Bar

When it comes to dumplings, the Japanese gyoza is my absolute favourite. So you can imagine my excitement when I heard there was a gyoza bar opening in Covent Garden.

Gyoza Bar (yes, that's really what it's called) sort of sits within Murakami, another Japanese restaurant. Which causes some light confusion when you think you're opening a door to the loo but in fact you're almost bumping into someone else's romantic dinner.

Daytrip to Oxford

Daytrip to Oxford

Oxford is always a good option if you've got out-of-town visitors who've seen it all in London. My folks were here a few weeks ago and after a full weekend of DIY-ing we hopped on the Oxford Tube at Victoria and went on a day trip to Oxford.

London Paella School in Battersea

A little slice of Spain has descended upon SW11 as last night saw the opening of the London Paella School in Battersea.

Five Top Beaches in the UK

Sun's out, and so is the bikini. It won't be long before we start complaining that it is too hot in London town. So if the heat is getting to you already, here are my five top beaches in the UK to escape to this summer.

Brighton

I'm lucky to live near Clapham Junction, so for me Brighton Beach is only an hour's train ride away. Besides chilling on the beach, there is lots of other cool stuff to do here. Wander around the Lanes for some bohemian impulse purchases or enjoy some playful fun on the Brighton Pier. Summers are good here in Brighton.

Things to do in Stratford upon Avon

This post is slightly overdue, but two weeks ago I went to up north to celebrate Shakespeare's 400th birthday and discovered some cool things to do in Stratford upon Avon. It was a bit of a trek for a day trip from London, but you'll be surprised how much you can cram in a day, if you just get up early enough.

Indonesian Food at Nancy Lam's Enak Enak

Compared to the UK, Holland is pretty well spoiled when it comes to Indonesian food as there are plenty of restaurants to choose from. So when I heard about the Indonesian food at Nancy Lam's Enak Enak, I ubered straight to Lavender Hill here in Battersea.
