|my carry-on bag|
I'm writing this as I'm getting ready to go on a trip to Jordan and I'm finding it harder and harder these days to pack. Can't bring big bottles of shampoo, creams or body lotion. Can't bring anything sharp or heavy or too large. Can't bring a handbag unless it fits in your carry on bag. And if you do want to check in your case, you pay a hefty charge for it.
No wonder people will try to wear their stuff instead of adding costs to their cheap airline ticket. But now that there's talk of some airlines looking into charging for carry-on luggage not letting you board with your jackets and sweaters in hand, what is a girl to do? Travel naked?
A good friend of mine used to say that all we need when we go on holiday is a toothbrush, one pair of knickers and an eraser and I think that's what it will come down to in the world of low cost air travel.
I know it's all about trying to educate passengers not to bring too much on their holidays, which equals less fuel, which equals cheaper airfares, which is supposed to lead to many happy passengers.
But I wonder, as I'm trying to squeeze my travel size shampoo bottle, and my tiny handbag into my teeny suitcase, all it makes me is grumpy. Very very grumpy. Next time it's a high cost airline all the way!
