This week I am sharing my impressions of the Lake District. This national park had been on my to-do list for such a long time and this weekend I finally made it happen. The main aim was to climb Scafell, my last of the Three Peaks in the UK, which we reached without any problems. The rest of the trip was filled with all kinds of other things the Lake District has to offer.
We saw of course plenty of lakes:

Lake Windermere |
 |
Lake Wastwater |
Lots of friendly sheep:
Impressive mountains, ridges and pikes:

En route to Scafell Pike |
Pretty villages with cute cottages:
 |
Nether Wasdale |
 |
Our hostel on Wastwater Lake |
And those cute cottages had lovely gardens:

Garden at Beatrix Potter's House |
As well as letter boxes in funny places:
 |
Mailbox in Hawkeshead |
What they didn't have was 3G reception or WIFI connections, so stay tuned for more detailed blog posts.
