I'm eating around the world without leaving London and this week I had Ghanaian food from Spinach and Agushi. Spinach and Agushi is a catering company that cooks up Ghanaian inspired street food, but you can also find them at Exmouth Market, Broadway Market and Portobello Market.
They usually have a choice of four stews cooking on the stove. They're all served with some jollof rice, rice cooked in tomato paste, some red cabbage and fried plantains.
Me being a novice to West-African food, decided to go for the 'Little Bit of Everything', which is of course a little bit of all four simmering pots.
I was served up ground peanut chicken in a creamy sauce, a spinach and Agushi stew, which is spinach leafs with crushed melon seeds in a tomato sauce, a black-eyed bean stew in a fragrant coconut sauce and a beef stew also in a sauce, but I forgot what kind. I took it home where I enjoyed every bite of it. Spinach and Agushi, where have you been all my life.
I am actually moving to Ghana on Monday, so now I don't have to be worried about the food anymore. Looks yummy!
